60 Years of Craftsmanship, Passion & Dough – Zermatt Tourism Visits Bäckerei Fuchs

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Zermatt Tourism to our bakery – a chance to reflect on 60 years of Bäckerei Fuchs. What began as a small café with a makeshift bakery in 1965 has grown into a modern artisan business with four locations – and an unwavering love for craftsmanship.

Founded by Pius and Yolanda Fuchs, our family-run bakery now offers over 130 products in its core assortment – plus countless custom creations for hotels, restaurants and loyal customers.

We take special pride in our Zermatt-inspired specialties like the award-winning Bergführerbrot, the iconic Matterhörnli, and our newest creation, the Génépi Cake – made with herbs that Philipp Fuchs hand-picks in the mountains above Zermatt.

But more important than any award is what we hold most dear: authentic craftsmanship and a team that pours heart and soul into their work.
