We present: The Findler Bread
Findler bread is a true treasure from our region, steeped in a long tradition. Until the mid-20th century, rye was cultivated by mountain farmers in Findeln, and it is precisely there that our Findler bread originated. We cherish and nurture this ancient recipe, which has lost none of its uniqueness to this day.
As befits a traditional bread, we use only natural ingredients for our rye sourdough and avoid any artificial additives. Our experienced bakers add only water, rye, wheat, salt, and yeast to the dough. Then come the spices specially blended for Findler bread: fennel, coriander, caraway, and anise. The delicately spicy aromas linger, delicately and deliciously, between the rye, wheat, and salt until the last cut.
Nice to Know:
"Europe's highest alpine garden will be created on the Gornergrat near the Rotenboden station in late summer 2023. The flora found there is among the most species-rich areas in the Swiss Alps. You can get a taste of the new alpine garden in the Findler bread or the Genepi cake from the Fuchs bakery: Various herbs growing in the alpine garden give the baked goods their unique flavor."
